Our Mission: To find good, loving homes for the abandoned and abused animals in our community; and to reduce the problem of pet overpopulation through spay/neuter programs.
P.A.R. was incorporated in 1997 as a “no kill”, volunteer, not-for-profit GA Corporation 501(c)3 organization. We have a seven member Board of Directors. Our 2007 Annual Operating Budget is $210,000, which includes a Pickens County Government Donation for 2007 of $14,000 (approx. 6.5%). Adoption fees are $75.00 for cats/kittens and $100.00 for dogs/puppies.
Our Rescue Ranch is located on 6 acres in Talking Rock and offers temporary housing for 50 dogs and 20 cats awaiting permanent adoption.
All rescued pets are spayed/neutered and receive vaccines prior to adoption. All dogs receive AVID microchip identification prior to adoption.
3,239 Animals have been placed into new homes in the last 5 years.
4,562 Spay/Neuter surgeries have been financed in the last 5 years.
SNAP (spay/neuter assistance program) offers $25.00 coupons for Pickens County residents requiring financial assistance for their own pet’s surgery.
SPAY DAYS – Special days set aside for private pet owners to have their pets spay/neutered for only $25.00 at our high-volume clinics throughout 2007.
