Escape to the Mountains for the
Fourth Annual Hiawassee Festival of Arts
Saturday and Sunday, August 25 and 26, 2007
from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

This August, the Northeast Georgia Mountains welcomes thousands of visitors to the Fourth Annual Hiawassee Festival of Arts. This two-day outdoor, juried show at the historic Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds features fine art and fine crafts, live jazz performances, educational activities and a variety of tasty cuisines.

The festival showcases 100 local and national artists specializing in watercolor, oil and acrylic painting, sculpture, jewelry, glass, wood and fiber art. It is presented by the non-profit Mountain Arts Association with the generous support of United Community Bank, Inc., Georgia Vision Center of Hiawassee, MountainTopGA, Ridges Resort and Club, Bender Realty and Blueridgehighlander.com. Participating artists compete for more than $6,000 in prizes. Visitors can watch artists in action with live demonstrations throughout the event.

The World Jazz & Music Society will perform live both days at the Festival. Food Vendors are planning an array of tasty goodies to please all palates. This year, the Georgia Mountain Fair has Academy of Country Music’s Top Female Vocalist and platinum selling recording artist SARA EVANS at the Anderson Music Hall on Saturday night during the Festival.

The Hiawassee Festival of Arts has many entertaining options and a picture-perfect setting on beautiful Lake Chatuge surrounded by the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains. Visitors can take advantage of luxurious accommodation choices from first-class resorts and quaint “bed and breakfasts” to rustic log cabin rentals.

For a $5 entry fee and free parking, the non-profit Hiawassee Festival of Arts provides an affordable and spectacular cultural experience for all. For more information, visit www.hiawasseefestivalofarts.org or call (706) 896-9739. For concert tickets only call 706-896-4191.
